The 68th Annual Grammy Awards, held February 1 at Crypto.com Arena and hosted by Trevor Noah for the sixth and final time, delivered one of the most politicized ceremonies in years, with multiple winners using acceptance speeches to criticize US immigration enforcement.
Bad Bunny closed the night with the biggest prize: Album of the Year for DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS, the first Spanish-language album ever to win the award and only the third by a Latino artist. He opened his speech with a two-word demand: "ICE out."
Kendrick Lamar's Record Night
Kendrick Lamar took five awards from nine nominations, his biggest a second consecutive Record of the Year for "Luther," his collaboration with SZA. The haul made him the most-awarded rapper in Grammy history, passing Jay-Z's long-standing mark.
Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas won Song of the Year for "Wildflower," their third in the category, tying them with Adele, Bruno Mars and Paul Simon for the most General Field wins ever at seven each. Olivia Dean took Best New Artist; Lady Gaga won Best Pop Vocal Album for MAYHEM.
The ceremony, the first under the Academy's expanded field of95 categories, set the tone for an awards season that would end, a month later, at the Oscars.
